Business owner Stacy Fifer is a natural born teacher and her style is engaging, patient, supportive, and FUN! She wants her students to do well! The classes are capped at a maximum of 10 students in a convivial setting and though there is a recommended text, the emphasis in class is conversation.”

“I've been taking French classes with Stacy for almost a year now, and I love it. I was already at an intermediate level, so I signed up for Le Découvreur (B1/B2). Even though I came in after the session started and many of the people already knew each other, I felt welcome. Now I'm in my third session, and I see my classmates as friends. We have interesting discussions about a variety of fascinating topics. Stacy encourages us to select things we're interested in to research and present to make it easier to learn the words and develop comfort with the language. “I learned to speak French when I lived in Paris for 8 months many years ago. I wanted to improve my French after my daughter married a Frenchman so I registered for a class at the L'Institute francais de Oak Park. The class is called Le Decouvreur. It's a small class held in a cozy room in a beautiful old Oak Park building. Stacy is the owner of the school as well as our teacher. She is a fantastic teacher and somehow gets us all to converse in French without fear of making mistakes. My experience has been so positive that I plan to continue at the school.”
