A new space for l'Institut!
When the Winter 2018 classes start in January at l'Institut français d'Oak Park, students will enjoy the intimate warmth of the school's new space. The school got started when I offered an intermediate French conversation class and Blue Max Coffee owner Terry Griffin generously allowed that small class to meet in the upstairs conference room of his café. I then rented space at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Oak Park where an equally generous and community-minded congregation encourages those offering classes or services to the community to use the church's space during the week.
In January, I will move my school to its own space at 11 Harrison Street in the dynamic Arts District of Oak Park. The space housed the humble beginnings of a successful and vibrant downtown OP business with French connections, the Careful Peach.
I will be hosting an open house for the school in the new space in February or March. I hope you will stop by to see the space and to chat about classes and all things French and Francophone!
